RESEARCH ON US AND CANADA

The GDP per capita of Canada is 35 ,200 for the year 2006 . The GDP per capita of the US is 43 ,500 also for the year 2006

Information Technology is a major growth driver in both countries especially during the latter part of the 1990s . The contribution in the economy of Information and Computer Technology is greater in the US than in Canada

Canada and the US are significant trading partners . The US is Canada 's biggest market of 85 of its exports like oil , gas

, uranium and electricity . After the Second World War , Canada became a giant industrialized urban economy . Growth was fueled by the manufacturing mining , and service sectors . Canada 's natural resources , skilled manpower and modern technology accounts for its robust economy . Canada is a Trillion Dollar economy with its exports making up one-third of its GDP

The US economy is market-driven . The US is more advanced than any country in the world in the fields of information technology , medicine aerospace and military hardware . Its economy is acknowledged to be strong and resilient . Despite crises like the 9 /11 , Iraq War , the Hurricane Katrina and the increasing oil costs , the shift in economic resources had little effect on its economy . The economy on the contrary managed to grow towards the end of 2006

The US government is a constitutional , federal democracy with co-equal branches of government such as the executive , legislative and judiciary The President is both the Chief of State and Head of Government . It has a bicameral congress with a Senate and a House of Representatives The Judiciary has a Supreme Court and other lower courts . Canada has a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy . The Chief Executive is the Queen of England thru the Governor General . The head of government is the Prime Minister . It has a bicameral legislature the Senate and the House of Commons . Its judiciary is composed of the Supreme Court and other lower courts
