world history
The four great religions of the world vary in a way that they become almost somewhat similar . Islam and Christianity both came from the same roots - Abraham , and yet they differ vastly . Although these two religions are monotheistic and believe in being moral as well as doing good to others , still it bears stressing that Muslims believe that God revealed the Qu 'ran to Mohammad . Islamic belief can be summarized as follows : belief in God , His revelations , His angels and messengers , the Day of Judgment and the Divine Decree . Islam is admittedly not

only a religion but has become a culture of billions of people . Muslims are taught to follow a specific and rigid set of customs which can be traced back to the time of Abraham . like the Jews , Muslims are also restricted in their diets . They do not eat pork or swine do not drink alcoholic beverages which intoxicate . While the Islamic faith is very rigid in terms of their customs and traditions , Christianity on the other hand is different . Although Christians also believe in one true God . However they believe in the trinity and that Jesus Christ was not only a prophet but the Son of God who came down to earth to give up his life Hinduism is another monotheistic religion , contrary to popular belief that Hinduism believes in different gods . For the Hindus , Brahman is the one and eternal god and the other gods of the Hindu faith reflect the will of Brahman . Different Hindu communities have their own divinities to worship although these are considered as other ways to approach the Ultimate
Confucianism is also one of the largest and oldest religions which originated in Asia . It is an East Asian ethical and philosophical system which developed based on the teachings of Confucius . Confucianism is a complex system of moral , philosophical , social , political and religious thought gleaned from the enormous history of East Asia . In the Daoist way of life on the other hand , it believes in the natural flow of the cosmos or life . The goal of the Daoist is to harmonize with the Dao hence becoming one with the Cosmos , with nature and all things . Among the great religions which emerged in China , Daoism is the most mystical in form and it appealed to those who wanted to withdraw from the political and intriguing life of society especially those who are disillusioned with the government
