Often , leadership is not just about proposing game plans and executing them to the minute details . If a leader can inspire a team almost to the point of anger , then that team can naturally pull together and do everything to

achieve the desired goal or vision

How did the leader 's inspirational speech spur the team to do positive action , almost to the point of anger ? Let us explore this question in the following paragraphs

Al Pacino 's character , the coach for the football team , was able to inspire his team to action by first stressing the importance and complexity of the task they are about to embark on . At the beginning of his speech he said , .three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives , all comes to today . And either we heal as a team , or we 're going to crumble . Inch by inch , play by play , `til we 're finished we 're in hell right now gentlemen . By giving the team a deeper understanding of their current obstacle and its direct influence over their personal lives , each individual player began to feel responsible for the team 's success . The coach laid the challenge in front of every player and made it clear that there was nowhere to go - it 's either they choose to do what it takes to win , or they fail completely

Taran Swan , former director of Business Development for Nickolodeon International , is an example of a great motivational leader and manager She was the first to envision the possiblity of bringing Nickolodeon to Latin America . Although chances at that time were very slim , Swan convinced her team that the time to go to Latin America was now before the market became oversaturated ' In May 1996 , she was able to convince her team to allocate development funds for the said project The leadership challenge was not easy , because she asked her team to do something they have never done before . In any team effort , a common goal and vision must be present so that a team can reach greater heights . No one can provide that vision better than a motivational leader .
