Secondly , the rigid working relationship between us has been smoothening rapidly which has resulted to better collaboration and therefore reaching agreements efficiently . The above statement meets the conditions contained in Chapter 22 . For instance , the statement commends the improving relationship between counselor and the patient , which is the foundation for success . The patient would therefore embark on expressing personal needs and concerns to the counselor who then embarks on developing measures of helping the patient recover . Indicating the progress achieved since the beginning of counseling sessions would go into far lengths of encouraging patients that there is hope in overcoming the current problems . Most importantly the patient is helped to understand that the counselor is there to help in the recovery and not play the role of judge .
