Running Head : V for Vendetta V for Vendetta A Discussion of the Movie Name University V for Vendetta is a futuristic story of a Britain ruled by the wealth to win the election , eliminate the opposition and restore in a post-war and -terrorism society . The party amassed its vast wealth by discovering a cure for a virus from a bioterrorist attack . Later on in the story it would be discovered that the party itself was responsible for the spread of the virus as part of its plot to rule the

In the middle of the conflict are its two main characters . V is a masked revolutionary who plans to destroy the government by killing its officials one by one and capping his acts by blowing up the House of Parliament . Evey is an ordinary young woman who crosses paths with V when the latter rescues her while she is being harassed by state police Later on , she in turn helps V escape from the building of the state-controlled British Television Network (BTN ) after he broadcasts himself urging the people to rise against the government on November 5 The days leading to November 5 then become a period of chaos in Britain as people , inspired by their hero , commits little acts of rebellion on the streets . On the day itself , however , V is shot and fatally wounded in an encounter with Creedy , the Norsefire party leader although he also kills Creedy during the time . Evey places V 's dead body on an underground train filled with explosives set to explode beneath Parliament . The final scene shows the people in jubilation over the overthrow of their tyrant government
The movie derives its historical inspiration in Guy Guido ' Fawkes The mask V wears is patterned after his likeness . Fawkes was a member of revolutionary group of Catholics during the early 17th century who planned to overthrow the Protestant monarchy led by King James I of England . He became famous because of his involvement in the 1605 Gunpowder Plot , a conspiracy whose goal was to blow up the House of Lords during the State Opening of the Parliament which would have killed the King and all officials . The group rented a cellar positioned underneath the Parliament building and loaded it with gunpowder . The plot failed when it was leaked to authorities . Fawkes became the first member of the revolutionaries arrested because he was tasked to guard and detonate the gunpowder . He and some of his companions were executed for the offense . After King James declared the annual commemoration of the foiled plot , Hawkes became a symbol of the occasion and his image and the story lived on in history . In the movie , the final act of destroying Parliament through an underground tunnel was itself based on the Gunpowder Plot . The date of the explosion , November 5 , was also the same both in history and the movie
Meanwhile , the Norsefire government in the film reminds the viewer of fascist governments that have existed...
