In some films , people could sometimes have the chance of having a feel of what it is like to jump from the present time to

the future . Some films would present characters that hold the ability to foresee what will happen to them in the future . In real life however , this does not happen- except of course for the self-proclaimed future tellers and palm readers . A lot of people may wish to have the genuine ability to foresee what will happen to them in the future , but as it seems , the only people who are able to do this are rather fictional like the character , Oedipus from Sophocles ' play , Oedipus the King . As a person who belonged to the mythological era of the past , Oedipus was born in his time with a not so pleasant prophecy . And thus , having been able to know about the tragic things that will happen to him in the future through prophets , people around him tried to change his fate by manipulating events to give him a rather completely different life .
