br 2 . Martin Luther King Jr . was an enigmatic leader of his era . His Letter From The Birmingham Jail ' was written during one of the most trying social times of the United States . Therefore my hook in the essay was meant to attract the reader into researching more about the events that led up to the writing of the letter . I believe that I successfully laid down this thesis in my opening statements of the first paragraph

3 . The thesis of my essay is a look into the background of events and

characters that participated in the creation of the letter . I was able to clearly present the argument that the letter was based upon not only one letter from a group of clergymen but was really the result of a series of events that directly affected the African American and White Man relationship of the time

4 . My whole essay remained on as I discussed in as great detail as possible about the events , people , and places that led to the writing of the letter . Without this discussion , the real intent of the letter cannot be easily understood

5 . While I was reading the Letter From Birmingham Jail , I came to the realization that the letter covered a deeply complex and disturbing time in our nations history . I chose to pick out what I felt was the most compelling argument in the essay and then used that as the basis for the rest of my

King , Jr . was compelled to write his reply . I did my best to research and hopefully present the catalyst for the whole situation throughout my essay

There are many survey results out there that truthfully show us the reality that the African American community of the nation can still do with a little more attention and equal rights and treatment when it comes to certain specific situations that affect out society . We can start with the results of the academic testing results in the majority of African American student body schools

9 . I would perhaps want to be able to show how racial discrimination and segregation still manages to exist in today 's modern times . I do not fully believe that this has been eradicated even with the current freedoms that the African- Americans seem to be enjoying . If anything it continues to grow and no longer affects just the African Americans but most of the non white races living in our country .
