Controlling a negative habit is not easy . Many people struggle hard to stop their negative habits but fail repeatedly . Sometimes it seems that the more I try , the more the inclination persists , and I am back to my normal self with the habit . In this , I examine some ways to stop or control my negative habit of shopping based on Guthrie 's three methods for changing a habit (in Hill , 1963

My negative

habit started when I was 12 years old . Whenever my mom and I went to the mall , I delighted to see the nice clothes hanged at the stalls . There were times when I insisted on having her buy me some new dresses even though I still had some new ones in my closet . When I grew up , my love for fashion grew better that I wanted to make it my lifetime career . This means embracing the possibility of keeping the habit but as early as now , I want to cure myself and find ways to control myself

In the past , I tried different strategies to stop myself from buying clothes but to no avail .
