You are seeking office as a member of a local state board that defines policies to improve the quality of family life. Each board member is allowed to choose and support one family-related agenda. What would be your platform? Why would you choose this
The local state policy If am elected as a member of a local state board , I will advocate for the implementing a policy banning smoking in public places and in homes where children are . Smoking affects the user of cigar and the person close to him Smoking has become one of the world largest causes of lung cancer and affects the brain of the user . Banning smoking in public places will assist in reducing the potential smokers to be . When lung cancer affects the smoker the cost of treatment is bone by

the family and this leads to family stress over thought of loosing a loved one
This policy will be resisted by many especially tobacco companies but it is good for families of our state . The tobacco companies may institute legal actions and probably have boardroom lobbies to defeat this policy , but its success will be the success of our families
Its success will have the following effects in our families the cost associated with purchase of these cigars will be minimal and money will be used in other family expenses . Secondly , the cost of treating cancer will be reduced since very few people will have prevalence for smoking and even the actual smokers will reduce their intake , thus reducing chances of being affected by cancer
By banning smoking in homes , chances of encouraging children from smoking are reduced . Children are the future leaders of tomorrow and their good health is important
Therefore I am urging my fellow board members to support my proposal since our state is very cool altitude and most people here use smoking as means of keeping them warm . Let our people look for other means of keeping them warm rather than smoking
