I feel that the Dental School Preparation course at University of Minnesota , School of Dentistry provided me with a unique experience to not only learn but to also contribute . It was a three day course . This course provided didactic and manual dexterity experience . I spent a total of twenty hours for this course

. During this course , we did cavity preparation , Crown preparation using DentSim , Primary Impression Diagnostic Cast , Diagnostic Wax up , Fabrication of Bleaching Tray

More importantly , this experience taught me a lot on dental procedure Admittedly , I initially had a hard time doing Impression , Diagnostic Cast , and Crown Preparation . An example of this is when I did impressions because it was hard mixing the alginate and water in the proper ratio . I encountered problems during maxing and for that reason I got bubbles in Impression . In case of Diagnostic Cast , during the process of pouring dental stone into impression , I did not do well in using the Vacu-Spat and as a result I got bubbles in my cast . Another trying endeavor was the Crown preparation on tooth 19 . During drilling I tried to remove minimum necessary tooth structure , however , I drilled a lot , caused some damage to adjacent teeth and made an undercut on the tooth
