Subject : Low Lunch Room Usage Rate - Analysis and Recommendations

Thank you for your insightful memo regarding our superior lunch room and its alarming lack of use by our professional personnel . Upon further investigation over the last couple of weeks , I have confirmed some of your suspicions and concerns . Despite our outstanding food quality courteous serving staff , efficient and welcoming design , and very attractive prices , our lunch room seems to be significantly and mysteriously under-utilized

Although we can amply provide lunch for approximately 350 people , our

br average staff usage is only about 100 lunches per day . Furthermore only about 20 of our professional staff is utilizing this fine economical benefit . For comparison , almost half of our non-professional staff routinely has lunch in-house . There is also little doubt that offsite lunches are costing us significantly in terms of lost hours and productivity . We need to bring both those percentages up , particularly the low professional usage rate

Your anecdotal observations and my follow-up personal investigation confirm that the average Samson offsite lunch taker is returning fifteen to thirty minutes beyond his allotted lunch hour . This liberty is costing us real and significant money , and I agree with you that it should be addressed firmly and immediately

As everyone within Samson knows , we seek to attract and retain a very talented , well-paid professional staff . Our professionals do not come from cookie cutter molds , and their independent and innovative personalities and skill sets may not always conform to traditional behaviors...
