Summary of means and standard deviations of male and female . Overall pop Male pop Female pop Random sample

(30 ) SRS male SRS female Mean 155 .528571 164 .5833 145 .941176 161 .0333333 171 .8 140 .8 Standard deviation 24 .6098375 25 .16048 20 .2678147 25 . 27 .85729 17 .9292259 The figure above shows the summary of the population mean and standard deviation of the population sample . A total number of 70 samples were collected by weighing 70 individuals . The samples were divided into two classifications , male and female . Statistical analysis will be done on the result to determine if there are significant differences between the total population mean on the mean of male population , female population , random sample population , stratified random sample male population and stratified random sample female population . Also , the standard deviation of each case will be analyzed using a 95 .5 level of confidence . The mean of the 6 cases was determined by dividing the sum of the weight of the population to the number of samples in a given population . From the given result , the lowest mean was the case in stratified random sample of female population at 140 .8 while the highest mean was the case in stratified random sample of male population at 171 .8 . To determine which among the 5 cases (except the overall population ) is the most accurate , each population mean will be compared to the overall population mean . The mean of the 30 random samples which is 161 .03 was the closest to the overall mean at 155 .5 3 . This can be explained by the method by which the mean was generated . Random number generator was utilized in this method . When using random sample , errors due to human are eliminated . It is very important in statistics that analyzing the data must be objective not subjective . Thus subjective approach on the data collected was eliminated . Another way to measure the accuracy of the experiment done was to determine the standard deviation of the population . From the table above , 6 standard deviations were generated for the 6 cases . Standard deviation measures the dispersion of the data to the mean . It shows how the data deviate from the mean . Thus higher standard deviation would mean less accurate of the gathered data . The lowest standard deviation among the 6 cases was the stratified random sample of female population at 17 .9 3 . Part of the analysis is the incorporation of a 95 .5 confidence interval of the mean /- 2 standard deviations . Given the mean and standard deviation of SRS of female population of 140 .8 and 17...
