Essay about points of FDR`s day of infamy speech
Essay about points of FDR`s day of infamy speech 2006 The Treachery of the Empire of Japan It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago . During the intervening time the Japanese Government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace In spite of the serious efforts by the United States to settle the conflict in the Pacific region peacefully , Japan used diplomatic

deception to catch the US forces off guard and attacked Pearl Harbor without any formal declaration of war . This was a blatant violation of the law of nations and the rules of war and it had to be stopped with the use of definitive force . Peace has always been the primary policy of all free nations but in these instances of severe violations of mutual understanding and fairness , the aggressors must be subdued quickly and completely before they can cause more damage
Japan stabbed America in the back while they were still conversing . They used the people 's hope for peace against them . There is no honor in this . And any government or regime that operates under these unethical policies is not fit lead others . The leaders of Japan have abused all the good faith and trust that America has given to them and to allow this to continue unpunished will only lead to greater catastrophe Peaceful parley was offered and yet it was shamelessly kicked aside by the Imperial leaders of the East
Japan is attacking freedom itself
Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya . Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong . Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam . Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands . Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island . And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island
It must be understood that the Empire of Japan in World War II was not only a threat to the United States but to all peace and freedom-loving nations of the world . They used all its might and military superiority to force weaker nations to join them in their oppressive campaign . Many persons are suffering and many more will continue to suffer if such an aggressor is not stopped in its tracks
It was clear that the goals of Japan were not centered on peaceful co-existence but on domination and imperialism . Their idea of an ly society is one where people are not allowed to define their own lives because of strict draconian measures . It was no longer about the free exchange of ideas but the imposition of their so-called superior ideals ' on the world . Their tyrannical attitudes are clear in their actions . By attacking Pearl Harbor with impunity , they showed the world that peace is no longer an option . They wanted to destroy what many nations have fought for . Neither America nor any other democratic society will ever allow this to happen
