On the first reading , Traveling through the Dark may seem to be a very
simple poem but if you will read it thoroughly , it is not as simple as
it seems . There are many symbolic references that the author used to
convey his message also , he played a lot on the use of language and he
utilized techniques that made the poem more relevant to what the author
tried to say . As a whole , the poem is the author 's statement on how he
views life . The poem itself represents actions and reactions and its
consequences .
