Organizational behavior involves application of knowledge and then using it to manage the organization through studying individual behavior . Organizational behavior would be used to explain how people relate at the work place (Hatch , 2006 . Study of organizational behavior helps the manager to be effective in that it helps him

to plan the organization hierarchy and interrelationship between people in the organization (Robin , 2004 . It helps him to allocate duties properly so that he gives people with the right characteristics the right jobs . A manager uses his knowledge to make these placements knowing in mind that where one can work best is where he or she can be most productive . Organizational behavior study helps to understand humanistic values and thus capture them in management decisions . It also helps managers to change the workforce through intervening where behavior is not desired . For example , from physical expressions a manager can easily tell the level of satisfaction or comfort ability of the employees . Constant quarrels and complaints for example may indicate two colleagues are not doing well together . This way the problem can then be solved easily
