Running Head : STATISTICAL GRAPHS Statistical Graphs Full Name School Professor 's Name Class /Course Statistical Graphs There are many kinds of statistical graphs that can be used to display data from experiments and /or surveys . The following are some of these different kinds of graphs First , a pictograph is probably the easiest to understand . It makes use of icons to show the quantity of the data . It is advantageous in the sense that it is easy to read , it is visually appealing since there is a use

of pictures or icons , and it decreases the size of the graph through the use of keyed icons . However , it could be disadvantageous in the sense that it is very simplistic , it cannot make use of several categories , and it is hard to quantify partial icons . An example of a pictograph is shown in Figure 1
The line graph is another type of statistical graph . There are two values being used for each point , where the x-value must have a correlating y-value . The points will be plotted and connected to form a line . This graph is advantageous since the original data are retained and there is no need for resizing of data values . Also , it could give a quick and easy analysis of the data . It could compare multiple sets of continuous data . On the other hand , it is disadvantageous since it could only manipulate continuous data . Figure 2 shows an example of a line graph
discrete data . An example is shown in...
