Marketing Analysis of the Potato Industry : The Case of Australia I . Introduction The current demand for fresh potatoes in the world is at a phase wherein increasing production costs coupled with intense competition from other potato segments impede the growth of the industry as a whole This will do a comparison on the particular situation of the Western Australian fresh potato industry in contrast with the global arena . Comparisons will include loopholes in the current strategic policies of the local Australian stakeholders along with its relationship with the local fresh potato

Furthermore , the global trends within the fresh and processed potato industry will also be analyzed in an attempt to peace out the strengths and weaknesses of the Western Australian fresh potato industry . The country 's agricultural pro will also be assessed in analyze the current strategic efforts made to see if these policies are effective and practical or not
Consumer behaviour in the Australian fresh potato consumption patterns will be analyzed in to define the necessary factors that currently affect or may affect the industry in the future . This will be then taken into consideration in drafting the appropriate possible recommendations towards the end of this research . These recommendations will then be detrimental in concluding if indeed there are problems that the industry has to work on or if the current strategies are enough to sustain the industry
