Over the last two decades , the demand for effective management and leadership in organizations has risen drastically . This has possibly been prompted by the ever rising need for ethical platform in major operations within and outside the organizations . Of greater concern is the need for effective conflict resolution strategies , mechanisms and good will necessary for ensuring strong and harmony in the dynamic world . Such has been the case with US organizations

that are occasionally marred with unending conflicts especially between the employees and other senior management officials . Over 50 of the organizations have had major conflicts in the two years . This has especially been accelerated by the massive reorganizations of the industrial sector due to the effects of economic changes (James , 2006 .What are key sources of conflict in the organizational setting

Early conflict theorists viewed conflicts to have three main causes that were rooted in the organizations management and personality traits which determined the ability of the people to operate harmoniously and effectively . To begin with , economics forms the major source of conflict due to divergent incompatibility in the ways of life ideologies with regard to operations management . Most of the parties are generally after maximization of their own demands and profitability in an organization .
