The issue of gay marriage legalization has continued to raise heated debates in most parts of the world especially as more gay persons declare publicly their sexual orientation . Also , the much attention that gay marriages have been given by media and human rights activist movements has also contributed to these heated debates on gay marriage legalization around the world . While some group of individuals and religious groups are against gay marriage legalization , human rights activists and pro-gay advocates are in favor

of gay marriage legalization . Groups against the legalization of gay marriage cite religious believes which state that legalization of such marriages would amount to sin .
