Juvenile cases refer to the court trials that are done on juvenile criminals , that is , criminals who are not yet legally adults and are older than 10 years old with the upper age limit ranging between 18 and 21 (Snyder , and Sickmund . There have been numerous debates concerning whether juveniles should be tried in adult courts in the same way and manner as adult criminals . However , the premises for the debate have always been shifting

as the legal system tries to decide whether to approach the matter with reference to the type of crime committed or to the fact that the perpetrator is considered a child irrespective of the crime . This paper will seek to show that juveniles should not be tried as adults while at the same time showing the consequences of both approaches , that is , trying juveniles as adults and trying them as children
