In this film , facts and figures were presented by the writer , Al Gore . He presented that the main cause of this on-going climate change happening in our planet is due to global warming , a phenomenon caused by the increase of greenhouse gases in the Earth 's atmosphere that . Greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth 's atmosphere , making air temperature a little bit but significantly higher

Global warming is a very important issue for all of us . The slight temperature increase in our surroundings makes it a little bit harder for us to stay outside without sufficient cooling . This significant temperature increase caused by global warming is enough to change weather patterns all around the world . Weather patterns in some countries have changed a lot for the past few decades , creating more frequent and violent storms and tornadoes . It already had a major impact in the lives of many of us living near the oceans where powerful cyclones harness their power and unleash it on land . Global warming also had a big effect on sea level . Over the past decades , sea level had dramatically risen by several centimeters . The reason for this is the melting of ice caps and glaciers in Polar Regions , especially in Antartica . Major ice caps and glaciers had already melted and disappeared forever in these regions . The film had documented some photos of mountain glaciers and presented the past and the current situations of these mountains . Another effect of this global warming is the increase in ocean acidity . The increase in CO2 gas concentration in the Earth 's atmosphere concludes to an increase in the amount of CO2 dissolved in the ocean . This increase of CO2 concentration in the ocean means the ocean water has more concentration of carbonic acid , making it more acidic . This increase in the acidity of the ocean water is very dangerous to the marine creatures living in the ocean . Because of this increase in acidity , more marine life could be endangered of becoming extinct . This would make an imbalance in the marine ecosystem , which could also affect the lives of humans

Since this global warming phenomenon is a big issue for all of us , we must do something to minimize the effect of it . Over the years , the declining .
