Running Head : ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS Environmental Problems [Writer 's Name] [Name of Institution] Environmental Problems 1 . Undoubtedly , the environment is one of the key factors of economic development , both on national and global levels . It is impossible to imagine modern economic system without advanced manufacturing facilities , factories and plants , which use a great variety of natural resources for producing everything necessary for our life . Also , a great number of industries (agriculture , mining , woodworking , etc , which influence national economic development to a certain degree , are directly connected with environmental specifics

p Besides , many important factors which impact on economic development such as unemployment , capital mobility , international trade or any type of economic crisis (financial crisis , energy crisis , etc , usually have certain environmental components . Finally , pressing environmental problems can be considered powerful stimulating factors for developing new effective production technologies , environmentally friendly ways of waste disposal and other models , directed on protecting the society from the consequences of environmental damage
2 . Despite quite slow economic progress in the majority of the world 's developing countries , destructive impact of their economic activities on the environment is significant . To a great extent it is connected with the fact that such countries frequently can not afford buying (or creating ) and launching advanced environmentally friendly production technologies , fail to decrease the amounts of pollution and environmental damage , strengthen pollution control or use various natural resources more effectively , etc
In addition , developing countries can not spend a lot of financial resources for improving current ecological situation and intensifying the means directed on environmental protection . Governments of such countries frequently fail to follow proper environmental policies and impose environmental regulations , not only because of lack of investments , but also because of lack of economic motivation . That is why economic activities of developing countries cause a lot of damage to the environment and contribute greatly to its degradation
