Human beings do not have contentment . If they fail , they try their very best to get what they want most especially if this concerns their rights . They observe and analyze what was wrong with their former actions and eventually form a new strategy with a correct timing for their next trial . This was very evident in the black American 's long fight against

racism for almost a century . The first was during the Reconstruction era after the American Civil War in 1860s and the second was the Civil Rights struggle in 1950s . There have been debates whether the latter was the continuation of the former or not . However , based on both events ' goal and interdependent cause , it can be inferred that they are just the same

The Reconstruction period came after the Northern states won over the Southern sates of America in the Civil War . It served as the prize for what they were fighting for in the war , which was the abolishment of the use of forced slaves . Under this era , there were specific laws that the US government imposed in to achieve the equal treatment for the black Americans .
