In the 21st century , the people of United States have experienced various events which everyone may regard as a momentous moment . For instance , the year 2001 would always be remembered in history for the unfortunate and unforgettable tragedy brought by the bombing of the World Trade Center due to some conflicts and terrorism . During this century , many people have also started to become fully aware of the various issues that the world is facing , such as climate change poverty , equality , and health , just to

name a few . Consequently different international organizations and popular personalities have appealed to the public of the need to change the ways of the world in to address these issues

Recently , there has been an event which is known to be a historic moment not only for the United States but also for the whole world . Last January 21 , 2009 the inauguration of Barack Hussein Obama , the first bi-racial president who was voted by the American People to lead the most powerful country in the world , took place . Such moment was very eventful . Due to the historical inequality which African-Americans as well as other ethnicities experienced in the past , the election of such type of individual to the presidential seat simply shows that equality has been somehow achieved . Therefore , the inauguration of President Obama had become one of the positive eventful moments in American history .
