The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People written by Stephen R . Covey discusses a unique approach to develop oneself personally and professionally in today 's globalized world . With interesting incidences and genuine insights , the author presents his integrated , holistic and principled approach , holding a lantern and showing a way to live life with honesty , self-respect , integrity and determination . These are certain principles which give us power and wisdom to adapt ourselves to the changes of the rapidly growing world

The author is able to describe , efficiently , the mindset and thought processes

of those who have been successful in their lives . Successful according to him , can be successful in social environment or successful in one 's own profession , or may be successful in some business achievement . Ultimately , being successful converges in to the same fundamental characteristics

Paradigms and Principles . These , according to the author , are the most important milestones that must be crossed in to tune and build different habits
