What is a green house effect ? The green house effect is the increase in temperature that occurs on the earth , because of the build up of certain gases in the atmosphere such as water vapor , carbon dioxide , methane and nitrous oxide , which are trapped energy from the sun . According to Larry West , approximately thirty percent of the light that comes from the sun that reaches to Earth 's surface is sidetrack to the outer atmosphere and spread back in to the space . Some of this lights reaches the Earth

's surface but is reflected upward again into the atmosphere which now becomes an infrared radiation

This infrared radiation is then trapped by the greenhouse gases , which regulate the climate by trapping warm temperature and holding it in a type of warm-air mantle that covers the planet . This process makes our planet ideal to live because of the good climate . However , there are certain things that are causing problems . The build up of green house effects creates problem because it destroy the natural process of warming the Earth . The more green houses gasses are emitted into the air , the more it makes the earth warm . The increased warming of the Earth is called global warming

Because of the potential impact of global warming on the planet , many people think they have to do something about the problem . Many people are urging to limit carbon dioxide emission from cars and other machineries using coal as fuel . According to survey , reports entitled Little Consensus on Global Warming forty-one percent of the people surveyed , believed that global warming is a very serious problem Indeed , Global warming is really a serious problem that everyone must be concern and helps contribute in some ways in the effort of stopping global warming
