It is our corporate responsibility to implement social programs in the neighborhood and the whole community that we serve . Whole Foods Market not only donates 5 percent of after-tax profits to non-profit organizations but

also financially supports employees who volunteer their time for community service projects . Many Whole Foods stores donate goods and supplies to soup kitchens in their local communities Our company executives want to encourage this type of activity , which reflects the Whole Foods , Whole People , Whole Planet ' corporate motto

In our area , Whole Foods for Life ' program has been conceptualized and implemented . This program donates surplus food to local food banks that cater to the poorer segments of our community . Our top company executives would like to replicate this food donation program chain-wide for us to be able to help more people and get more of our employees involved

Since we do not have a great deal of extra money to implement this program to the highest extent , our emphasis is to use resources which are already available in the stores like the use of trucks from suburban stores to make the program mobile ' Another idea is to join forces with a retailing chain to give food and clothing to individuals
