The Final Solution

Formulated during the Wannsee Conference in 1942 , the details of the Final Solution were finalized to include the four key components of Hitler 's Grand Scheme : forced emigration and resettlement , deportation to concentration camps , Einsatzgruppen or the Special Action Squads , and death camps . The process of annihilating the Jews took the entire bureaucracy of Germany , a complex social , political , economic and military mobilization to ensure the superiority of the Aryan race and the occupation of more lands for the German nationals

In the initial stage , the Nazi regime

forced some 500 ,000 Jews out of Germany . This First Solution called the Jewish Question was intended to make hundreds of municipalities Jew-free . Some emigrated to the United States , United Kingdom , Palestine , and Argentina . However , many countries refused to accept the Jews . As a result , the Second Solution was implemented , the deportation of the remaining Jews to concentration camps wherein many died due to starvation , disease and cold . The conditions in these camps were so cruel and brutal designed to dehumanize the prisoners physically and emotionally . In addition , the Jews were forced to slavery doing free labor for German industries and separated from their families . The camps likewise served as a holding area for transport to death camps

The Einsatzgruppen was part of the first German army troops to invade the Soviet Union . Their specific mission was to kill on site Jews communists , and gypsies . These killing units murdered more than a million Soviet Jews . Many were shot by machine guns in a ravine and buried alive . Others were placed on a truck filled with carbon dioxide to asphyxiate them . Finally , the Nazis carried out massive killings of Jews at death camps where the victims were slaughtered inside a gas chamber in just five minutes that released cyanide-based gas called Zyklon B . In Auschwitz , around 12 ,000 Jews died every day . There bodies were then cremated
