In other words , it is just like a counsellor who asks an individual a set of question to solve his problem . The difference is that in case of the counsellor , it is a human being that asks questions where as in an expert system it is a computer program that suggests the judgement and behavior of a human or an organization that has expert knowledge and skill in a particular field . Usually , such a system includes a data base consisting of a group of experience and a set of rules for applying the data base to specific situation that is described in advance to the program . Further it is also possible to upgrade the expert systems by enhancing it with additional data base or the set of rules
In general , most of the expert system with a set of rules analyzes information which is generally supplied by the user of the system in a particular sequence . Once the questionnaire is completed the expert system recommends one or more courses of user action . Sometimes the expert system may also offer mathematical analysis of the problem (s .
