Natural Law Essay

Natural law is one of the most interesting in the field of ethics . It serves as a guide for

the acts or deeds of an individual in the way he or she handles life Dolhenty defined natural law as

a concept of moral principles that is common to all humankind and a generally believed by people

is recognizable by human reason alone ( An Overview

of Natural Law That means that , natural

law is discovered or made known by human reason . It is also based on what is real and points to the

harshness of the thinking mind or conscience . If you have done something bad , your conscience will

haunt you night and day depending upon the gravity of the offense

Natural law basically talks about the ability of man to rationalize his actions based on

justice . Dolhenty pointed out that , a person being naturally inclined to look for what is right and

good to reason , and naturally shrinks from what appears to be evil ( An Overview of Natural Law

It is connected to the adherence of the golden rule- do not do unto others what you do not want

them to do unto you- which is basically a strong influence to the people . In addition to that , good

things must be done and bad things must not be emulated . This is based on the reason that good

things produces good effects whereas bad things results to negative things . Men knew that for them

to avoid bad luck , they should avoid doing bad things

The theory on natural law is very relevant in the world today because the degeneration of

human values is rampant . Some people are no longer afraid of negative consequences if they do bad

things . The theory is a big help in the preservation of human values on morality that is vital for the

achievement of a peaceful and progressive society . However , due to the freedom of man to choose

between right and wrong , it will be up to him on what he will do with his life
