The Ethics of Grace Grace Nursing does have an ethical voice but often still needs to learn to use it . However , all too often that voiced is silenced by physician other staff or the system itself . We are told that ethics comes from a group effort to understand the situation from all sides and then rendering an ethical value . Nursing so often is not able to be a part of that ethical value . The Case
Grace is a 48 year old female patient admitted from the nursing home post stroke and fast heart rate . Grace has an advanced directive that says she does not want to have her life prolonged and she is already on dialysis three times per week . advanced directive is a decision made by an authorized decision maker in conversation with a physician and is a legal document (Jonsen , 2006 , pg . 85 .
