Ethical Concerns for United States ' Military Training of Dictatorships

United States of America 's Army is a strong force with `state of the art ' fighting equipment and with military capability superior to many other countries . It is out of this ability of the army that the need arises out of corporate social responsibility on the part of the United States army to give back to the less endowed countries ' military . To achieve that goal , the army engages in joint military training exercises with

many countries . Such joint training operation are aimed at both making he US military familiar with different terrains as well as to assist the host countries to upgrade their military capability in terms of skills for the soldiers

Therefore , it is morally right for the United States army to train less privileged armies to become better prepared to deal with potential threats of aggression as well as any other form of threat (Ruggiero 78-81 . Morally , the `more able ' countries have an obligation to share with the `less able ' countries and specifically the developing countries . Most of the developing countries lack the right governance and democratic structures to guarantee that , the training and other form of military aid given to such countries will be used responsibly and not to exploit the very citizens the military aid is meant to protect

The United States , should exercise more caution before deciding who qualifies for any given military aid . Unless the U .S government considers , the consequences of its military aid to some countries especially with a history of human rights abuse , the US government military aid will lose its value and will be viewed as unethical by those who continue to suffer brutality meted on them by the very government agents who are supposed to protect them . Other ethical consequences are that the US government is likely to lose its place as a champion of international democratization process as its policies will be seen to be in contravention with...
