ESSAY : WOMEN AND POLICING

Necessity seems to demand a more diverse police force in the future With increasing population , international relations and the economy there is no doubt there are more issues of security to attend to in the country in recent time . Youth violence , crime and other social vices have not in any way been curtailed by the force to a reasonable extent Maybe the reason for this is because of the limited diversity in this sector of the economy

Research shows that women officers respond more effectively to domestic violence incidents such incidents accounts for about half of all violent crime calls to police

With the increase in minorities in the population , the enticement of more money in the world of private security , and the need for higher education , with women typically achieving higher education than men these factors would all lead to more women in policing . And this is where quality matters . Competence becomes an issue for the heads of Police departments to work on so that quality and not necessarily gender is the issue for recruitment , training...
