The Roanoke branch of the Phoenix Advertising is experiencing some internal problems . These problems are affecting the operations of the shop

One of the shop 's directors died in an automobile accident . The other one was pirated by a competitor . Aside from this , the shop also experiences problem with its employees . Many employees have low morale and are not motivated to work

The sales performance of the Ranaoke branch is vital to the overall profitability of the agency . It is critical therefore that internal problem be solved to maintain its sales performance and profitability

Current Problems

The loss of its directors results to problems in the management of the operation of the shop . Without the directors to run the show , conflict arises . The low morale of the staff is due to the increase in work load but without the appropriate compensation and over-time pay . The graphic designers and copyalso experience low morale as a result of the decisions of directors and account executives to interfere with their work or output

The loss of the director to a competitor and the low morale of staff reflect significantly on the method of Phoenix advertising agency in dealing with its staff . There is a need for the management to review and re-evaluate the reward system and the motivating factor for them to stay in the agency and work productively for the company

Effect of the Problems to the Organization

According to Dreher and Dougherty (2001 , how a company manages its workforce largely determines whether it will be able to establish and sustain a competitive advantage over other companies . With the loss of key people in the management of the shop 's operation , the Phoenix advertising will feel its effect on the profitability and performance of the company . It might lose its accounts to its competitors as a result of this loss . Low morale of staff also means low productivity and low quality of work Creativity in the work of the graphic designers and copywill also be compromised
