My Dream 1 . These two questions for 300 words (together ) Each one has one paragraph a . Tell us what you 'd like to major in at Cornell . How has academic or work experience influenced your decision b . How would transferring to Cornell further your academic interests Always attracted to the world of business , I have gained experience in the field that led me to the conclusion I need to major in this area . In Korea , I established a private asset management company with seven other colleagues . Managing private assets and keeping

track of stock investments proved to be a thrilling experience , and also one where we had some impressive successes . Involvement in investing activities on a day-to-day basis proved a good starting point for a business career that I continued at AIG Insurance where I took up a position in 2004 overseeing insurance , loan and tax reports . This hands-on experience helped me gain interesting insights into business processes and investment decision-making , confirming my conviction that my career interest lies in this field . It also helped me to realize that I have the intellectual ability and personality traits to succeed in business
What I lack at the moment is a solid academic experience , as I feel the need for more expertise than I gained in my previous studies . I feel that growing one 's knowledge base is essential to business decision-making , and at present expanding my acquaintance with Business and Applied Economics is my most important academic interest . The renowned academic strength of the first American university ' and a rich history of excellence will help me to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the modern business world while maintaining a focus on the academic field of my choice . With a wide array of interdisciplinary programs and research opportunities , I will be able to receive the most up-to-date information about business which will prepare me for responsible and informed decision-making in my future career . I hope to benefit from Cornell 's outstanding programs and interactions with a diverse student body , seeing the same things from different perspectives

Serving people has long been my most important goal , and with the activity I will describe I learned effective ways to do so . During volunteer work at a child care institution for the disabled run by my mother , I assisted her in working with children who had fewer opportunities in life than most of us . Throughout my involvement , I had the feeling that helping them is my responsibility since it meant sharing with them some of the good fortune I had in being born a healthy , able individual with a good career and social outlook
