Hermia is then warned by the Duke of the consequences of disobeying her father . This decision prompts Lysander and Hermia to escape letting their intentions known to Helena who is in love with Lysander hence tells Demetrius of their elopement . Both Helena and Demetrius follow the two in the woods where the Athenian craftsmen were rehearsing a play which they could perform to the Duke and his bride (Shakespeare 238 -239
