After Hamlet accidentally kills Ophelia 's father Polonius Ophelia ends her life and Hamlet has even more reason to seek revenge Laretes (Ophelia 's brother ) and Hamlet agreed to a duel . Each seeking to avenge the wrongful death of ther loved ones . Hamlet is a play in which several conflicts are revolving around the central plot . These additional conflicts influence the major plot themes , and final outcomes of this play . The first of these smaller conflicts is the double love story . There are two love stories in Hamlet that parallel each other . The first is between Hamlet and Ophelia .
