There are many different ways that people adapt to their environments Compare and contrast adaptation to altitude and adaptation to dairy farming . Discuss the genetic , physiological , and cultural /behavioral aspects of adaptation with respect to these two examples

Adaptation is

defined by the American Journal of Human Biology as the adjustment mechanism of all living things to suit a particular environment . The process involves genetics physical as well as physiological manipulations in the body functions of the living creature to better survive in harsh environment . Usually , adaptation is manifested by all species from plants to animal kingdom to sea creatures

Of all conditions man is known to respond to , the aims of a species is to be able to multiply and survive the threat of enemy which in terms of human beings is illnesses while for other animals it could mean both illnesses and predators . Human beings can initiate many genetic changes such as mutation which enables the person to grow hairy legs and hands to cope with extreme cold

Physiological or functional adaptations are the changes which are initiated by the body systems in the advent of harsh weather conditions in to ensure that , normal body processes such as breathing are not tampered with . Physically the body adapts to high altitude by many ways and therefore they can survive through modifications such as constructing suitable houses in the attitude . In the alpine regions for example all houses in the high attitudes are constructed with heating rooms in to ensure that , is suited to including and physical to is the environment . From a comparison between adaptation to attitude and adaptation to dairy farming , it is evident that , both require and call for adaptations in to remain at par with the processes happening in the body

In this a comparison shall be drawn the adaptation of people to altitude and adaptation to dairy farming , in regard to genetic physiological , and cultural /behavioral aspects . According to (Birky Muruyama , Fuerst . 1983 , most adaptations done by people in regard to attitude or dairy farming is an indicator that a person becoming more and more well suited for this business

Every kind of adaptation by the body is caltylysed by a need to counter a threat to death of body cells . As a survival means the body initiates changes purposely to increase the supply of oxygen to the cells . In situations where this is necessitated by higher elevation , the process is referred to s acclimatization

Biologically the following body changes are occur in response to altitude Higher rate of respiration , higher heart beat rate , an augmented rate of production for red blood cells as well as enlargement of blood capillaries to adjust to high demands...
