The world congress of architecture 2008 was held in Turin and focused on the theme transmitting architecture . It was a three-day congress , in which representatives from countries all over the world had participated . The exhibitions and lectures , which dealt with the various fields of design , were spread around the city , while most of the main exhibitions were located in the Loggatto area of the city inside a building that once served as a car factory , the building has been transformed into a hotel in one part , a mall in

The show opened on the night of June 29 . On the same day , a few events took place . Even though this was mostly an architectural show , much industrial design was incorporated to the exhibitions , the different booths , and show rooms . On the opening ceremony , I visited a showroom which consisted of expositions that presented the developments in industrial design over the years . The room was long and narrow , and the presenters of the show decided to organize it in a way that allowed the room to transform into a time line both in a vertical and horizontal way in to show development over time and context .
