In the building and construction industry the compliance to the specific requirements provided for by the building control bodies is paramount for the general safety of the occupants of the particular for the usual situations in the design and construction of buildings . In the Approved Document B , there are clear guidelines on the issues of fire safety in relation to acceptable standards regarding means of escape including fire-doors and fire exits among other

issues . This will dwell on the two issues as per the recommendations in the Approved Document in relation to dwelling houses namely fire doors and fire exits . The building in this is a one upper storey dwelling house
