Elimination of Sweatshop Conditions

Due to the strive to become more productive and earn more profit that the normal level , there are some instances wherein workers of certain businesses or companies are being exploited by their employers in terms of providing unhealthy ' working environment aside from the fact that this workers are being paid under the minimum wage rate . In short social welfare is sacrificed in exchange for productivity of the workers . This kind of scenarios are can be seen in most of the

developing nation wherein they strive for improvement and economic growth is very much intense up to the extent that the workers are being exploited by their employers . The main industry which practices the said injustices to the workers mostly fall under the garment manufacturing industry and the way other people describe the situation of workers inside this garment manufacturing industry is- sweatshop

Sweatshop , as technically defined , is the term being used in describing the poor working conditions and workers who are being paid less of many industries which are mainly garment manufacturing companies . Now , the purpose of this is to provide alternatives on how to solve this said issue which would be of great help in alleviating the welfare conditions of workers in the industries

Let us consider the case of China wherein , for many years , it has been the location for cheaper labor force in the international market and that is why there are a lot of multinational companies are establishing their manufacturing firms their in China (Booth 1 . Since multinational industries are producing tons of their products every year , they require great number of laborers to attain the said level of production . These companies would hire more and more workers into their manufacturing firms up to such point wherein the number of workers exceeded the capacity of the manufacturing firm in attaining efficiency and effectiveness and this result to having a very crowded working place wherein there is insufficient number of ventilation , enough space to allow workers to work comfortably and , since the Chinese labor market has excess supply of laborers in the market forcing their wage rate to become stagnant at the lower level (Maruyama 1 , Chinese workers are being paid usually less than the minimum wage requirement of the government

In this regard , based from the scenario of the Chinese market , it would be great and beneficial on the welfare of the Chinese labor force if the Chinese government would passed laws that would increase the minimum wage rate of the workers and set standards of what manufacturing plants and /or factories should appear at , like setting the maximum number of worker on a specific floor area and the company could hire depending on the size of their company or production level so as to monitor the working condition of the businesses in the market
