Abstract

Since the first stages of the mankind evolution and up to the modern times , our

understanding of death and dying , as well as our attitudes toward death as such , has undergone a strategic shift . What has not changed is the nature of death - the quality and the speed of one 's death was always predetermined by a whole set of genetic and environmental factors . Now , with the advent of the new technological age death still remains something truly personal - something that generates a range of emotions and reactions from anger to acceptance and hope although from the medical viewpoint death almost always follows the same heart failure mechanism , regardless of the environmental reasons that have led to that failure
