Introduction

The focuses particularly on dating as was practiced by the generation that existed immediately before twentieth Century and the modern generation in the twentieth Century

Dating happens when two people or a group agree on the time and date to undertake a social activity which serve as an avenue to explore each other and do assessment on a partner 's potential to make a future spouse (Jane D . B , Jeanne R . S , Kim W . C . 2002

.13 . Dating before the twentieth Century was more of a courtship whereby the mother of the woman invited a young man to the woman 's home and their conduct and conversations were closely followed by an adult . Only dating that was directed towards marriage was encouraged . Traditional matchmakers were responsible for organizing social events to bring together those on a date . Dating during these days did not include sex and even intimate expressions like kisses could only be stolen away from public eyes . This trend has been outdated in the twentieth Century as young people have taken it upon themselves to make arrangements with their dates . Technology has also brought about different ways of dating like dating over the internet where individuals or groups meet online to develop relationships that end up in romance or marriage . Those involved visit dating sites where they chat and exchange mails and upload or browse photos of virtual dates . Mobile phone has also made it easy for two or more people to date without necessarily being in the same place at the same time . The modern virtual dating has a number of demerits some of the dating sites host fake pros to attract people looking for dates who end up paying for no services . Due to lack of physical contact , virtual dating lack trust between those involved . Modern dating is not closely controlled by the authority figures and they are mostly meant for boyfriends and girlfriends which are short term . This lack of control is the result of increased involvement in sex , abortion and children outside marriage . However , these changes have increased my social awareness and boundary due to diverse nature of modern dating (Jane D . B , Jeanne R . S , Kim W . C . 2002 ,

Conclusion

Technology in modern dating has brought many people of different cultures and background together hence increased opportunity for dates to learn more . People are also able to interact without necessarily coming together physically . Liberal dating allows for choices These changes show that the society has become liberal letting go some of the practices that were binding on dating as others date just for fun
