There are a lot of differences between Qatar , my home country and Britain . The first and most notable one is difference in religion . In Qatar , almost 90 of the population is practicing Muslims . This affects their way of life since Islam is a lifestyle . This affects how we eat what they eat , how we socially relate with the opposite gender and how we govern out country . There is a lot about our life that is governed by our religion . Our laws , for example , are based on the Koran . The Koran has the Sharia that we the Muslims follow . Since Islam is the state religion , it is therefore in accordance to the Sharia law that we live There are two sections of Islam : the Shiite and Sunni Muslims .
