Thailand and United States were compared in the study on the competitiveness of the managers they produce in their countries . These countries are far from each other , already giving us a point of comparison . The samples

were clustered or stratified according to age the younger ones and the old ones . The qualitative variable to be taken into consideration is their level of influence to their subordinates This is done to be able to be considered as a factor for their subordinates to exert some upward influence on them . We may say that the older ones will surely have better managerial capabilities , maybe because we connect experience to age . We have a common notion that old persons are better from the younger ones This is the exciting part of this study . This is to consider numbers statistical data and other procedures established in relating different variables to come up with relationships , and therefore establish this relationship to come up with a strong conclusion . The methodologies applied on this research shall be dissected and studied regarding their effectiveness , especially the way the samples were gathered and some other crucial statistical variables

Research has up to some extent focused on the study of organizational tactics venturing on the use of influence . Maybe because it should be the one with the real focus . For the first part of the study , there was an establishment of the difference between upward influence and formal organizational power . It is needed to establish these differences in to avoid confusion . The beginning of the was merely for the better understanding of the managerial and corporate terms . However lengthy introductions are boring to finish reading and there are readers who get easily annoyed by this . Nevertheless , the information given was really useful in the course of understanding the basic concepts to move on to the next level

The subjects for the analyses were selected from U .S . and Thailand Because of the limitation of the distances among the respondents , the survey forms were just distributed through e-mail in participants .
