TITLE : What is the difference Between Grandma 's Teacher and Mine

INTRODUCTION

When I was young , I could not help but pity my teachers with their worry lines and stressed faces . I guess facing a class of hyper-active and stubborn kids can do that you . That is why I wonder why people choose to follow such a laborious career . It is a fact that teaching does not pay much compared to other more exciting and glamorous careers so why pursue teaching

Several years back , a teaching career

can be as inviting as any job in the market . Financial issues back then do not much get in the way of selecting your career . And of course , people back then often follow their dreams with regards to what they want to do in life , without first considering the paycheck or the benefits the career offers . The book featured case studies of innovative programs - such as the National Writing Project - that provide teachers with opportunities to lead within a professional community . Also , they tell stories of individual teachers - from Maine to California - who are able to lead in a variety of contexts . The book offers a new standard of teaching and community that recognizes all teachers as leaders . It shows how to develop learning communities that include rather than exclude , create knowledge rather than merely apply it , and that offer challenge and support to both new and experienced teachers . This book is a volume in the Jossey-Bass Leadership Library in Education . It belongs to a series designed to meet the demand for new ideas and insights about leadership in schools
