I remember one time when I was having my first hospital rotation specifically in the pediatric ward , I encountered a patient having an aplastic anemia . The whole unit setting gave me so much stress to deal with : too many patients , lack of resources , and absence of a reliever My patient was suffering from excessive bleeding to the point wherein I packed red blood cells and administered to him . Later on , he even suffered from allergic reactions post blood transfusion as he started to manifest fever , itchiness , and chills .
