The bill of rights of the United States of America was constituted on December 15 .1791 and also from that year there were 10 amendments From the word itself , the bill is concerned of the rights of the citizens . Like any other bill or laws , the bill of rights of the United States of America came from a single basis . Like we all know , America has been a colony of English for two centuries

, also it has greatly affected how the American government was shaped . From the most basic to most profound bills and laws , English had played a big part in it . Until now we can see the some similarities between each country 's forms of government . Some of the general laws have been derived from their declaration of independence . The declaration of independence centered about equality and rights of the citizens of America . It does not necessarily tells us the specific rights but it imparts that people have "unalienable rights .among which are life , liberty , and the pursuit of happiness , as well as the right to alter and abolish governments that become destructive of rights . But the declaration of independence itself is insufficient for a specific law for the welfare of the citizens , that 's why there were some amendments . These amendments constitutes to the further developments of fundamental or general law and to the most specific or enabling law that is now being implemented in America

2 ) There is a saying "If you are guilty of crime , it is better to be in a common law country , but if you are innocent , it is better to be in a civil law country " How can that be

In common law , it is characterized by lax interpretation of the law future decisions are based essentially on past precedential decisions of a court . It means that the justice system draw most of their decisions from previous cases and affects the future decision they will be implementing . The law simply means that if a person is guilty of a crime and if there was a previous case that the suspect was acquitted which also resembles his own case , there is a high possibility that he will also be acquitted . Conversely , if a person is innocent of a crime civil law is much better when it comes to this kind of case , because when it comes to civil law there are more safety measures to protect the rights of the accused person . Moreover , civil law is procedural when it comes to courts it means that it is likely to know the truth behind a certain case
