What can you contribute to the research

Cancer is a disease that does not only affect the patient , but the whole family of the patient as well . My own grandmother is currently battling breast cancer therefore our whole family is on a quest to beat this disease . I

1 . Where are you currently studying ? What is your current major and why are you interested in joining this research project ? What aspect of the research project caught your interest and why

I am a junior transfer and my major is molecular and cell

biology . I am interested in joining the project because I want to focus my study on tumorology during graduate school . I believe that the research will help me understand deeper how the world currently deals with cancer

2 . Do you have any talents , experience , contribution or personal quality that wil lhelp to enhance team efficiency

I am a straight A students and I have just completed a molecular and cell biology course in the last semester . The course basically has given me the knowledge needed for this research project (according to the of the project . Moreover , I have worked as a lab technician in the past , which has given me a lot of experiences working in the lab

3 . Give me a background on why you have a keen interest on this It will help if you can give me a personal reason such as a relative or close friend who has cancer or who recently died of the illness

My grandma has suffered from breast cancer and I have seen her suffering badly during the chemo therapy , which made me suffer a lot spiritually Secondly , I have spent the last summer volunteering in a hospital in Macau and I have seen a lot of patients suffering badly from cancer This makes me feel the importance of getting the solution of the problem as soon as possible . Moreover , I have a good friend who is working as a technician in the tumorology department in a hospital in Hong Kong and I have shadowed her work during the summer . This solidified my interest in tumorology

4 . Don 't forget to tell me anything that you think might help me in the writing . I will work it in as best as I can

PS : I think the biggest problem that I have with the personal statement is that I cannot give an example of the method I would use to locate where p53 is ubiquitiquitinated (the ultimate question to be solved in the project . Therefore , it would be great if you give me some ideas on that . Thanks a lot...
