Overtime , there have been suggestions to overhaul the healthcare system of the United States . The aim has been to provide a healthcare insurance that is universal . One of the proposals includes a free vaccination program . It is meant to guarantee health insurance to the Americans and control medical costs . According to the proposal , people are supposed to choose a plan from the options given through `healthcare alliances ' One of the options of the healthcare reforms would be through citizens being included in

health maintenance organizations . The other is the payment of a service coverage fee

The system is meant to enlighten individuals about their healthcare costs . It is also supposed to encourage competition among different health plans . This will ensure costs are cut and better services are offered . Even if the competition does not lower the costs , restrictions on the premiums ' growth are supposed to keep the health costs at per with inflation . In the reform free vaccination is supposed to be granted to many poor children . The conservatives are of the opinion that these healthcare reforms are needed . According to them , America has a broken healthcare system . Conservatives are opposed to the opinion that the way to solve the healthcare issue is by the government taking the responsibility of running it though universal healthcare . They feel that the government is not fully equipped for such endeavors that are enormous , and even if it were possible the bureaucracy would not be efficient
